“Paperless Pay” As all organizations strive to be paperless there will always be times, when we have to produce a paper paycheck to include new hires, terms, etc. In some instances, employee mindset and state pay laws sometimes make producing a paper paycheck more valuable. Because of this, we will always have to deal with unclaimed wages or escheat laws for those employees who do not cash a check. Each state has specific laws and requirements on how employers must report, remit and document amounts for checks that are uncashed by employees. Escheat or unclaimed wages can become a large compliance issue for employers.
This webinar will review the laws of all 50 states regarding unclaimed wages and will help you better understand the difference between reporting and remitting. After participating in this webinar you will be equipped to handle the complexities and challenges in regards to uncashed payroll checks.
By attending this audio conference, you will learn:
Unclaimed paychecks and property present significant challenges for businesses, particularly regarding compliance with state regulations. In many jurisdictions, businesses are required to report and remit unclaimed wages and property to the state after a specified period of dormancy, often referred to as escheatment. Failure to adhere to these regulations can result in severe penalties, fines, and reputational damage.
This webinar will be available soon. Please contact customer care for new schedule date.
